Waterberg Wilderness Reserve

What a weekend we had!!! We would just like to compliment you on the wonderful, no AMAZING, atmosphere you have created at Waterberg Wilderness Reserve. Never have we had a more relaxing, tranquil experience such as this. We where able to get away from the noise and constant rush of the big city, and be quite with each other. It really feels that you are the only one there, even though there are other people around. Thanks to Jeanette and Thembi for their wonderful service and hospitality. They went out of their way to make us as comfortable as possible. We are telling everyone about Waterberg Wilderness Reserve, and be sure to hear from us again.” Ronel Vermaak

Waterberg Wilderness Reserve

During the long week-end of 29 April 2011 to 2 May 2011 my friend and I went for a camping trip to Waterberg Wilderness Reserve (http://www.waterbergwilderness.co.za). I was looking for a long while to find a place where one can go camping without having too many other campers, or at least very private camping sites. I found it at Waterberg Wilderness Reserve. They have 5 Luxury Tent facilities, and three rustic camp sites. There is no electricity, and the Luxury camps have solar panels that provide electricity. For the camp sites there is no electricity. BUT, the camp sites are very very nice, with ample space, a water point, braai and roofed structure (corrugated iron lapa?). There are two rustic, but very nice bathrooms, each with a large shower, vanity with basin and mirror, and a flush toilet. In the evenings the staff provide oil lamps at both the camp sites and the bathrooms. The showers have hot water due to gas geysers. As all of this is on a game farm, one can do your own game driving. Oh yes, one can access all of this only by 4 x 4. I took my Conqueror Comfort trailer and had an awesome time. What I want to know: Can Getaway not investigate where else one can find similar camping venues? I am sure there must be lots of other people that would like to have this type of camping facility compared to the normal resort, with hundreds of people, noise, and campsites with absolutely no or little privacy. I attached some pictures to show what it all look like. I can really recommend this to anybody that want something different. I have to compliment the guys from Waterberg Wilderness Reserve on an awesome place. You guys really have something very special on offer. Regards Harrold Page
